Matt Capobianco

Matt Capobianco brings extensive expertise in international disaster response and emergency management, with 13+ years serving as Deputy Director for multiple Canadian humanitarian aid organizations. In these roles, Matt managed all facets of disaster response operations, including pre-planning, logistics, deployment, operational oversight, team safety, and recovery efforts. Across nearly 100 missions, he consistently identified water purification as the most critical need in disaster-stricken and conflict zones, driving efforts to provide clean drinking water in the most challenging circumstances.​

Matt has actively participated in responses to some of the most significant disasters and conflict-related crises of recent history in countries including: Bangladesh, Chile, China, DRC, Haiti, India, Iraq, Japan, Pakistan, Philippines, Somalia, Ukraine and Yemen.

 

Through his work, Matt has developed a reputation for leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to addressing the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by disaster and conflict. His extensive experience informs the development of innovative, scalable solutions to ensure access to clean drinking water during emergencies.

Scott Brumwell

Scott is an accomplished emergency management professional with nearly a decade of experience in healthcare emergency preparedness, complemented by extensive expertise in prehospital care as an Advanced Care Paramedic and a decade of service as a medic in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves. His career has been shaped by challenging assignments in remote, austere, and conflict-affected countries including Libya, Iraq, Chad, Mali, Philippines, Rwanda, Uganda, and others.

Scott is an experienced educator, having conducted training sessions across Canada and in various international locations. His leadership in emergency preparedness is evident in his current role, where he oversees programs for nine healthcare facilities. This includes reviewing and updating emergency plans, coordinating Incident Management Teams and Emergency Operations Centers, and organizing drills and training for both internal and external stakeholders.

Scott's extensive experience in international disaster and conflict zones drives the development of innovative, scalable solutions to ensure access to clean drinking water during emergencies. Scott is passionate about integrating global disaster response strategies into domestic planning efforts, particularly by incorporating emergency safe drinking water capabilities into Canadian community emergency response plans.

Shawn Carby

Shawn is an emergency services executive with a 30+ year record of achievement and demonstrated success developing and leading complex public and emergency service systems. He’s skilled at achieving targeted results in organizational service delivery and improving team performance within the parameters of a strong ethics and values based approach. 


Shawn has held leadership roles in municipal, regional and provincial emergency service organizations in Manitoba, Ontario and BC . As an influential and collaborative leader and educator that is highly effective in building new service delivery programs, he enhances relationships with stakeholders supported by a commitment to integrity and trust.

Throughout his career, Shawn has successfully directed large-scale initiatives such as the development of multiple regional EMS systems, unification of regional 911 services, construction of emergency communication centers, and advanced pandemic response planning . He has extensive experience in cross-border and multi-agency collaboration, including leading national and international emergency and disaster management efforts. He’s a trusted advisor, mentor, and innovator, bringing a results-driven approach to solving complex challenges while enhancing resilience and operational excellence.
